In late January, a video emerged online showcasing a tool used by hackers to remove players from matches in Black Ops 6. This footage was captured during the multiplayer beta of the game, as confirmed by Activision. However, the company stated that the vulnerability exploited in the video was resolved before the official release of Black Ops 6 in November. Activision emphasized that the video does not represent the current state of the game, and they consistently investigate reports of such utilities.

Despite Activision's claims, some players argue that the company is misleading the public, insisting that hackers are still utilizing the tool. They presented a video as evidence, showing the utility in action during a match on the Nuketown map, which was introduced to Black Ops 6 just a week after its launch.

Black Ops 6 achieved significant commercial success, topping the sales charts in the United States for the previous year, as reported by Circana analysts. The Call of Duty franchise has maintained its position as the top-selling game series in the U.S. for 16 consecutive years. Meanwhile, EA Sports College Football 25, launched on consoles in July, became the most popular sports game in the country.

In 2024, U.S. gamers' spending saw a slight decline of 1.1% compared to the previous year, attributed by Circana to reduced demand for hardware. Conversely, expenditures on add-ons and services increased by 2% and 6%, respectively. Looking ahead, fans can anticipate the launch of the second season of Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2 on January 28, which will feature a ninja theme and a crossover with the "Terminator" universe.
