BG3 Patch 8 Stress Test Update

The Patch 8 stress test update includes numerous bug fixes, addressing crashes, scripting errors, and ensuring proper item consumption mechanics (specifically for Gale). Access is restricted to those invited to participate in the stress test; the general public will need to wait for the full patch release. Improvements include enhanced container persistence, improved Steam Deck Photo Mode functionality, refined posing controls, better cross-play, updated tooltip values, and numerous crash fixes. For a detailed changelog, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

Patch 8 is anticipated to be a major update, potentially one of the final large content updates before Larian concludes development for Faerûn. Key features include full platform cross-play, over twelve new subclasses (including Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the highly-requested Photo Mode.

Unleash Your Inner Photographer with Photo Mode

A sneak peek video showcases the extensive customization options available in Photo Mode. Accessible during gameplay, combat, and even multiplayer sessions (for the host), Photo Mode allows for detailed character posing, inclusion of party members or additional elements (like a frog!), and a freely-moving camera. Post-processing effects, stickers, and frames further enhance creative control. Note that pose manipulation is unavailable during dialogues and cutscenes, though post-processing remains an option. Larian plans to release additional tutorials to maximize player creativity.
