Tim Burton's iconic Batman universe is set to expand further with the upcoming novel Batman: Revolution, penned by John Jackson Miller and published by Penguin Random House. This new addition to the Burton-Verse introduces fans to its unique take on The Riddler. You can now preorder Batman: Revolution on Amazon, ensuring you won't miss out on this thrilling new chapter.

As reported by ComicBook.com, Revolution follows the narrative laid out in 2024's Batman: Resurrection, also written by Miller. Set between the timelines of the 1989 Batman and 1992's Batman Returns, Revolution draws heavily from Burton's unrealized vision for a third Batman film, which was rumored to feature Robin Williams as The Riddler.

Here's a glimpse into the official synopsis of Batman: Revolution:

It’s summer in Gotham City, and there's reason to celebrate. The last traces of The Joker’s toxic legacy have vanished just in time for a grand Fourth of July event organized by the mayor and retail magnate Max Shreck. However, not everyone is in the festive spirit. Batman remains ever vigilant as tensions rise with rival gangs and masked criminals. Meanwhile, public protests escalate against the city’s extravagant displays.

No one feels the tug-of-war between Gotham’s hope and despair more than Norman Pinkus. A humble copy boy at the Gotham Globe, Norman is the unseen genius behind the paper’s popular Riddle Me This puzzles. But he has a secret. As the city's smartest man, he's been solving crimes anonymously for years, often before Batman even gets wind of them.

Despite his contributions, Norman remains unrecognized and unrewarded. Frustrated and feeling overlooked, he decides to take matters into his own hands. With the aid of some dangerous new allies, he stokes the simmering summer tensions to challenge Batman in a high-stakes game of riddles, aiming to prove who the true savior of Gotham is. As they confront each other, Norman, now The Riddler, and Batman unearth long-buried secrets that threaten Gotham's future.

Batman: Revolution is slated for release on October 28, 2025. Secure your copy by preordering on Amazon.

DC Comics has not been idle either, continuing to enrich the Burton-Verse. Following the release of Batman '89, a sequel to Returns that introduced a Billy Dee Williams-inspired Two-Face and a Marlon Wayans-inspired Robin, they released Batman '89: Echoes. This comic brings to life a Jeff Goldblum-inspired Scarecrow and a Madonna-inspired Harley Quinn. Additionally, DC has published two volumes of Superman '78, serving as sequels to the Christopher Reeve Superman films.
