Acquiring Paradisan Ladder in Avowed

Five primary methods exist for obtaining Paradisan Ladder: purchasing from Merilyn, foraging, side quest rewards, item deconstruction, and downgrading Hylea's Talon.

Merilyn the Merchant

Merilyn, located in South Paradise (see map above), offers the fastest guaranteed method. She initially sells five units at 150 coins each. Additionally, she stocks two deconstructible items – the Many-Hued Doublet and the Common Grimoire of Elements – each yielding two units of Paradisan Ladder upon deconstruction. Note that her inventory doesn't replenish after selling out.

Foraging in the Wild and Cities

Paradisan Ladder can be found throughout the game world, both in wilderness areas and cities like Paradise. The plant's icon appears on the minimap (red circle in image above), assisting in location identification. While other plants may resemble it, actively searching during exploration steadily builds your supply.

Side Quests

The game's difficulty curve, influenced by Paradisan Ladder's scarcity, encourages side quest completion. Many side quests reward crafting materials, including Paradisan Ladder. For example, the "Escape Plan" quest provides two units. Completing side quests offers a supplementary source while providing experience and other benefits.

Item Deconstruction

Deconstructing items at a workbench yields base crafting materials, including Paradisan Ladder from higher-tier items previously upgraded with it. For example, a Common Sword upgraded with Paradisan Ladder will return some upon deconstruction. Check merchant inventories for unique items potentially containing Paradisan Ladder for deconstruction.

Downgrading Hylea's Talon

Once you reach Emerald Stair and acquire Hylea's Talon, you can downgrade each unit into three Paradisan Ladder at a workbench. Access the "Crafting" tab, then select "Downgrade" to perform this conversion. This is particularly useful for quickly upgrading different weapon types.

By utilizing these methods, players can effectively manage their Paradisan Ladder supply and optimize their character builds.
