Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising a plethora of new features and updates to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging. From new game+ to additional difficulty settings, new story content, and more, the game's future looks bright.

In a detailed four-and-a-half-minute roadmap update video released today, Ubisoft laid out its plans for 2025. The video, though brief, provides a clear schedule for the months of May and June, showcasing the team's commitment to delivering free updates throughout the year to keep fans engaged with the latest stealth-action title.

Alongside this, players can expect a Codex update and several quality-of-life enhancements. May will also see significant parkour additions and an updated photo mode. Ubisoft emphasizes that these updates are a direct response to community feedback, reflecting their ongoing commitment to refining Assassin’s Creed Shadows based on player input.

“Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released,” said community developer Daniel St. Germain in today’s video. “Regular title updates are coming, each with impactful additions – and changes – based on your feedback and requests, with some bug fixes to continue refining the experience across all platforms.”

June will bring another free story drop, along with more challenging difficulty settings, enhanced gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the choice to keep headgear on or off during cutscenes. These features are highly anticipated by the player base, and Ubisoft plans to introduce even more, including new game+ support, additional story content, special collaborations, and other enhancements before the year ends.

A major highlight on the post-launch roadmap is the first major DLC expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, titled Claws of Awaji. Set to release later in the year, this expansion promises new content such as the Bo staff weapon and a new region for characters Naoe and Yasuke to explore over a 10-hour journey. While pricing details are still under wraps, those who pre-ordered the game before its launch last month will receive this DLC for free.
