How to Unlock Animals in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, every time Naoe or Yasuke interacts with a new breed of cat or dog, you unlock that specific animal for your Hideout. This means you can bring a diverse range of dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens into the League’s sanctuary, including the stray you help in the pre-order DLC quest “Thrown to the Dogs.”
Yasuke can also unlock smaller animals by capturing them in his paintings. You might encounter rabbits, fox kits, tanukis, and monkeys in the wild, and by documenting them, you can add these charming critters to your Hideout as well.
For those who prefer farm life, you can purchase farm animals like oxen and goats from vendors throughout Japan, using varying amounts of mon to enrich your Hideout with these rustic companions.
How to Add Animals to the Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
(Ubisoft) To add animals to your Hideout, navigate to the Hiroma and interact with the bench to access the customization menu. Once in build mode, tab over to the wolf icon on the far right. Here, you’ll find a list of all the animal types you’ve unlocked, categorized into dogs, cats, and “other.”
Choose the animal you wish to add, and you’ll be taken to an overhead view of the Hideout. Select an open grid on the map to place your new companion. Remember, animals will roam freely once you're back in game mode, so they won't always be in the same spot for cuddles.
Apart from the special pup from “Thrown to the Dogs,” you can add multiple instances of any animal to your Hideout. Keep in mind, though, there's a limit to the total number of animals you can have. You can always remove or replace critters in build mode to refresh your Hideout’s menagerie.
