Released in March 2023, the Sony Bravia XR X93L is the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup, just below the X95L, which was only available in an 85" size in the United States. The X93L utilizes Mini LED technology, which significantly enhances HDR content. Mini LED technology involves an array of smaller, more numerous LEDs that can independently turn on and off, thus improving black levels and contrast ratio.
This TV is also an excellent choice for gamers. It comes equipped with four HDMI ports, two of which support HDMI 2.1 specifications. This allows for 4K output at up to 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for current-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, the new Switch 2, when docked, will be limited to 60fps in 4K, so HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary for that system.
For Android smartphone users, the Sony Bravia XR X93L uses the reliable Google TV smart interface. It's user-friendly and allows you to use your Android device as a remote.
