Halma is a classic board game created in 1883 or 1884 by George Howard Monks, an American thoracic surgeon at Harvard Medical School. Inspired by the English game "hoppity," Halma offers engaging strategic gameplay.
The game is played on a checkered board using distinct pieces - typically black and white for two players, or various colors for four players starting in opposing corners. Players aim to move all their pieces from their starting corner to the diagonally opposite corner. Each turn allows either a single-step move to an adjacent square or a series of jumps over other pieces.
Features:
- Three difficulty levels of artificial intelligence (AI)
- Completely free to play
- Three visually appealing board skins
