Deal & Bidding:
Each player gets 13 cards, starting to the left of the dealer. The first dealer is picked at random, and then the deal rotates clockwise.
Scoring:
In Callbreak, each player bids between 1 and 13 tricks, starting to the left of the dealer. To score positively, players must meet or exceed their bid.
Gameplay
○ In Callbreak, spades are always the trump suit.
○ Players must follow the suit of the first card played in a trick if they can. If not, they may play a trump card. If neither option is possible, any card can be played.
○ Always aim to win the trick by playing your highest card.
○ The player to the dealer’s right starts the first trick with a card of any suit. Others then play in an anti-clockwise direction. The trick is won by the player who plays the highest spade (if any spade is played), or otherwise the highest card of the leading suit. The winner of a trick leads the next one.
